Medicine as It Was Meant to Be Practiced
As a physician dual board-certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, I bring a perspective that spans childhood through adulthood, combining preventive medicine and metabolic expertise to identify health risks early and address the underlying factors that contribute to chronic disease.
That kind of care takes time. At Marjan Medical, you get unhurried appointments, evidence-based medical weight management, and comprehensive preventive care—without the rush, long waits, or insurance red tape.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)?
It is an independent healthcare model where your physician works directly for you, not an insurance company. Instead of waiting months for a rushed 10-minute appointment, you get unhurried virtual visits, direct messaging with your doctor, and transparent wholesale pricing on labs. Removing the middlemen ensures insurance companies never dictate your care, allowing us to focus entirely on proactive, long-term health and prevention.
Do I still need health insurance?
No, you do not need insurance to be seen at Marjan Medical. However, because we provide direct primary care and are not an insurance plan, we strongly recommend having a major medical or catastrophic plan to cover services not provided by Marjan Medical, such as emergencies, specialist visits, surgeries, and hospitalizations.
Can I use my HSA or FSA to pay for my Marjan Medical membership?
Yes! Under federal guidelines, qualifying Direct Primary Care fees are recognized as eligible medical expenses up to $150 per month for individuals and $300 per month for families. You can use your Health Savings Account (HSA) debit card directly or submit our receipts for reimbursement.
For Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), guidelines and eligible expense rules are managed by individual employers and plan administrators. We provide itemized receipts and documentation upon request and recommend verifying coverage details directly with your FSA administrator.
Can I join just for weight loss if I already have a primary care doctor?
Absolutely. Our Medical Weight Loss tier is designed for individuals who have a primary care doctor but want dedicated physician oversight for evidence-based weight management. We utilize a full spectrum of clinical tools tailored to your needs—including oral and injectable medical therapies, advanced metabolic testing, and sustainable lifestyle strategies.
How do lab tests work?
Wholesale Labs (No Surprise Bills): We send lab orders electronically to your nearest Quest Diagnostics or Labcorp location. You can take advantage of our discounted wholesale pricing—a comprehensive baseline panel is typically just $25–$35 total instead of hundreds out of pocket—or choose to have the lab bill your insurance directly.
How do prescriptions and medication refills work?
Your membership covers your medical care, ongoing check-ins, and direct access to your doctor. Prescriptions are paid for separately depending on where they are filled:
- Local Pharmacies: We can send routine prescriptions—as well as brand-name GLP-1s (like Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, or Zepbound) if your insurance covers them—directly to your preferred pharmacy, where you can use your health insurance, manufacturer copay cards, or discount programs like GoodRx at pickup.
- Compounded GLP-1 Medications (like semaglutide or tirzepatide): When ordered through our partner compounding pharmacy, medications ship directly to your door. You are billed at true pharmacy wholesale cost with zero clinic markup. We recommend linking a US bank account (ACH) at checkout so refills process without card transaction fees.
Who is eligible to join (and do you see kids)?
We welcome children, teenagers, and adults across Indiana. With dual board certification in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, care spans everyday acute illnesses, chronic disease management, and medical weight loss across all ages.
Location: Due to state medical licensing laws, you must be physically in Indiana at the time of your virtual visit.
Medicare / Medicaid: Due to federal direct-pay rules, we cannot accept patients enrolled in Medicare, Medicare Advantage, or Medicaid.
Do you manage or prescribe controlled substances?
No. To maintain patient safety and adhere to federal and state telehealth regulations, Marjan Medical does not prescribe DEA-controlled substances (such as Schedule II opioids, benzodiazepines, stimulants for ADHD like Adderall, or testosterone).
What happens if I get sick after hours or have an emergency?
For non-urgent questions, you can send a secure portal message at any time, and we respond during our standard business hours. However, Marjan Medical is not an emergency room or walk-in urgent care. If you experience a life-threatening emergency, severe chest pain, shortness of breath, or urgent trauma, please call 911 or proceed to the nearest emergency department immediately.
Is there a long-term contract?
No. All memberships are month-to-month and can be paused or canceled anytime with 30 days’ notice.
